AVCC is excited to announce the formation of a new Pre-Silicon Benchmarks group within our benchmarking working group. Kicking off October 2, 2024 and continuing bi-weekly, we are seeking new participants from across the automotive industry to join this important initiative.

Why Pre-Silicon Benchmarks Matter:

  • Enable “shift-left” in the long automotive design cycle
  • Provide higher confidence for OEMs and Tier-1s during architectural design
  • Help reach performance and power targets earlier
  • Improve cost efficiency through optimal IP selection and sizing
  • Allow apple-to-apple comparisons through standardization

Our Goal:

Develop a technical report on “Best Practices for Pre-Silicon Benchmarking for IVI / AD / ADAS” that will:

  • Define key use cases and KPIs
  • Specify critical parameters to report
  • Align on aspects like memory hierarchy, process nodes, and communication latencies
  • Address security and safety considerations
  • Reduce effort for IP and SoC vendors

Who Should Participate:

We welcome representatives from OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, semiconductor companies, IP providers, EDA vendors, and other stakeholders in the automotive computing ecosystem.

By joining this working group, you’ll have the opportunity to shape industry standards, network with peers, and gain early insights into emerging best practices.

Not (yet) an AVCC member? While ongoing participation will require membership, we are opening the group up for public industry participation on October 8th and 9th during AVCC2024.
